OH HELL NO!

This is not how I imagined AKB48 would be recognized in Mexico!

Ok, so I don't talk much about it, but I actually quite like AKB48's songs. I began listening to them back in 2008, but just recently I've put more effort into learning more about the actual group. I'm definitely a fan of their music, and I'm sure I'll become a fan of the group once I get to know them.

Moving on to what this post is about....

Just recently I came across what seems like a cheap immitation of "Beginner." It turns out that the video is actually some sort of parody, and it's done by some tv host from a local tv show. The song is in Spanish and the group of girls are from Mexico. It shows a bunch of girls dressed up in skanky school girl outfits. They all have names that relate somehow to make-up or beauty products, such as "Arely Polish" and "Sandra Gloss."

My first reaction upon watching this was to laugh. Then I got a bit angry when I actually listened to the lyrics. They are suppose to be comic, but I just found them to be stupid. They took a good song with a good meaning and made it into a ridiculous piece of crap.

I always thought it would be great to hear about an Idol group (or a Japanese artist, for that matter) in a country such as Mexico, but never like this. I wonder if people even know this song is originally Japanese? Part of me wants them never to relate it back to AKB48. I really don't think they need this kinds of stuff to be noticed anyway.

Since the time this video came out I've seen many rude comments made towards Mexico. As a person who's parents come from Mexico, I assure you there is actually some really great music that comes from Mexico. These girls are Mexican, but please forget that detail lol. After all, it would be just as ridiculous no matter what country it came from.

So I guess I'm done rambling. I just felt the need to share my "concern" lol. ah, feel much better now!

Oh, before I go.. check out the "Banda version" xD LMAO, it does get worse!
